A New Zealand woman was recently attacked by a dog she was looking after while its owner was in prison. The 33 year old woman was mauled by the animal and suffered significant but not life-threatening injuries. The attack was unprovoked. Because the woman was in possession of the animal, no lawsuit will be filed against the incarcerated owner.
This attack follows a serious mauling of a two year old boy in Auckland within the last week. The dog, owned by the toddler’s father, was killed after the incident.
