The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers is calling for legislation to protect children from potential harm caused by tanning beds. They feel that anyone under the age of 18 should not be using UV tanning equipment.
The Health and Safety Executive currently states that tanning bed use is not recommended for those under the age of 16. The lawyers want customers to sign a consent form recognizing that they understand the risks.
